Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Martin of Springburn (Labour), on Wednesday, 3 May 1995, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 28 members in total.
OPTICIANS AND VAT
That this House is deeply concerned that opticians will receive a multi-million pound rebate on VAT; understands that opticians have no intention of passing this rebate on to their customers who paid the VAT in the first place; and therefore urges the Treasury to insist that the customers get the benefit of this windfall.
