Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Michael Alison (Conservative), on Monday, 12 June 1995, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 35 members in total.
DISSEMINATION OF ULTRA VIOLENT VIDEOS
That this House notes the widespread dissemination of pirate video material, including videos which show real murders and torture and which are often widely distributed in school playgrounds; further notes the failure to enforce the Criminal Justice Act and Public Order Act 1994 in relation to video shop retailers who hire out or sell videos to under-age children; and calls for more effective action including the establishment of a small national unit within the police force to deal with these matters.
