Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Kevin Hughes (Labour), on Tuesday, 20 June 1995, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 42 members in total.
GREENPEACE AND BRENT SPAR
That this House congratulates Greenpeace on their excellent and brave campaign to stop the Brent Spar oil installation being dumped at sea by the Shell Oil Company; notes that Greenpeace has succeeded in putting the issue firmly on the international agenda; and calls on the Government to recognise the force of this case and accept that dumping the Brent Spar or any other installation at sea is an appalling act of environmental vandalism which must be opposed.
