Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Jimmy Dunnachie (Labour), on Monday, 1 May 1995, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 46 members in total.
OVERSEAS AID FUNDING
That this House seeks from Her Majesty's Government an assurance that the full amount of money required for the Pergau Dam project will be restored to the aid budget and that future aid budgets will not be cut in order to claw back payments for the Pergau Dam; and further demands that the aid and trade provision section of the aid programme is abolished so that a properly funded aid programme which directly tackles poverty and promotes development may flourish.
