NSPCC CAMPAIGN, A CRY FOR CHILDREN

That this House welcomes the launch of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children's latest advertising campaign against the devastating effects of domestic violence against children; notes that those involved in domestic violence rarely realise the emotional impact on children; and congratulates the NSPCC for its hard-hitting advert, based on widespread evidence that the unborn child is sensitive to pain and sound, highlighting the plight of the unborn child distressed and disturbed by domestic violence.

leave out from `advert' to end and add `notes that this is part of a wider campaign to highlight the serious damage that violence and abusive behaviour causes to families and children of all ages; and supports the campaign's central cry for all people to think about how they behave towards children.'. (Relevant registered interest declared)
1062A2
leave out from `House' to end and add `regrets that the NSPCC is ruining a good case by the use of offensive and disturbing images based on bogus science which may alienate many of its supporters who believe that an organisation with its fine reputation should not stoop to this kind of sensationalism.'
