Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Terry Lewis (Labour), on Wednesday, 16 May 1990, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 20 members in total.
Exchange & Mart, Portsmouth Family Concern, and Adult Interest Advertising
That this House welcomes the decision of United Newspapers plc to discontinue, from the end of May, the advertising of 'Adult Interest' items in 'Exchange and Mart'; notes with satisfaction that these include advertisements for telephone information services which have caused grave public offence; hopes that this move will soon be copied by other publishers including national newspapers; and recognises the part played by the Portsmouth Area Family Concern in achieving this policy decision.
