Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Robert Parry (Labour), on Tuesday, 18 June 1996, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 64 members in total.
DEATH OF ELLA FITZGERALD
That this House places on record its sadness at the death of 'the first lady of song', Ella Fitzgerald; remembers her songs, The Sunny Side of The Street, Manhattan and Every Time We Say Goodbye and her style and voice which helped her through ill health and a double amputation; and recalls the voice which gave so much pleasure to millions of people over the last 50 years.
