MUSIC FROM TWO GREAT CITIES

That this House congratulates Granada Television on its 40th anniversary celebrations, and on the grand concert at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall where the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra and the Halle Orchestra performed together for the first time in their history which was music from two great cities and which was a memorable occasion by two of the greatest orchestras in the world, in particular the rendering of the intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana.

at end add `but regrets the decision of Granada TV to insist on guests wearing evening dress thereby denying the honourable Member for Liverpool, Garston access to the concert as he does not own any and has no intention of doing so; and condemns this act of snobbery on the part of Granada TV.'.
