Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Anne Campbell (Labour), on Tuesday, 7 May 1996, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 39 members in total.

SMOKING IN PUBLIC PLACES

That this House condemns the Government for so lamentably failing in its target for 80 per cent. of public places to have an effective smoking policy by 1994; and calls upon the Government to honour its commitment, setting out in the Health of the Nation White Paper, to implement enabling legislation, since voluntary means have failed, to provide smoke-free environments in public places as the norm so as to ensure that everyone is entitled to breathe clean air.
