Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor John Butcher (Conservative), on Tuesday, 21 May 1996, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 2 members in total.
PRESIDENT OF THE NUS
That this House congratulates Jim Murphy, President of the National Union of Students on his uncritical support of the Labour Party's proposals on student finance; wishes him well, in his future career as a Labour MP; and notes his suitability as a putative member for New Labour given his willingness to serve his Party leaders rather than his union members.
