Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Harry Greenway (Conservative), on Thursday, 6 June 1996, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 7 members in total.
CONDUCT OF THE RIGHT HONOURABLE MEMBER FOR SEDGEFIELD
That this House notes that, despite his confession to having smacked his own children, the Leader of the Labour Party voted on a free vote of the House against moderate and reasonable corporal punishment in schools in 1986, thus removing a very valuable disciplinary sanction from teachers acting in loco parentis to the nation's children.
