Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Peter Fry (Conservative), on Tuesday, 11 June 1996, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 50 members in total.

ENGLISH RFU AND TELEVISION RIGHTS

That this House is greatly concerned at the unilateral decision taken by the English Rugby Union to sell their television rights for broadcasting England's matches to BSkyB TV as this not only endangers the future of the Five Nations' Championship but will also deny the vast majority of rugby players and supporters who cannot obtain match tickets the opportunity to view games as they take place.
