Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor John Austin (Labour), on Wednesday, 13 March 1996, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 46 members in total.

SOUTHERN LEBANON

That this House notes that 14th March marks the eighteenth anniversary of the first Israeli invasion of Lebanon; deplores the continued Israeli occupation of a significant part of this independent and sovereign Arab country in blatant contravention of United Nations Resolution 425; condemns the regular shelling of villages in southern Lebanon; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to use both persuasion and pressure on the government of Israel so that the totally unjustified occupation may be ended without delay and a comprehensive peace treaty be signed between Lebanon and Israel.
