BOB PAISLEY O.B.E.

That this House regrets the death of Bob Paisley, former manager of Liverpool Football Club; notes that he was a Geordie by birth, born in a mining village and worked as a building trade operative and became the most successful manager in football history; further notes that under his management Liverpool won six First Division championship titles, three consecutive Football League Cups, three European Cups and the UEFA Cup and that he was elected six times Manager of the Year; and believes that in spite of the fame he brought to Liverpool he always maintained the common touch and will always be remembered.
