Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Michael Alison (Conservative), on Monday, 17 March 1997, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 39 members in total.

CHRISTIAN HERITAGE

That this House applauds the views expressed in a statement on 5th December 1996 by the Lord Mayor of Coventry, Councillor Stan Hodson, in the furtherance of his efforts to promote peace and reconciliation, to the effect that all people of goodwill appreciate the enormous debt owed to Christ and Christianity in this world this last 2000 years and that for most people the world whether in schools, hospitals, universities, literature and music or in churches and indeed the instruments of state, would be unrecognisable without His influence, inspiration and wisdom.
