Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Simon Hughes (Liberal Democrat), on Thursday, 21 November 1996, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 27 members in total.

LONDON TRANSPORT BUS SERVICES ON CHRISTMAS DAY

That this House regrets London Transport Buses' decision not to provide any bus services on Christmas Day; notes that the seven Christmas Day bus services in 1995 provided by the private sector attracted a large amount of custom; notes that such services are popular in other world cities and that such a scheme is supported by the Association of London Government; and requests that London Transport Buses review its decision with a view to providing a limited number of services on key routes in central and inner London on Christmas Day.
