MACROBERT AWARD TO ROLLS ROYCE PLC
That this House congratulates Rolls Royce plc on winning the Royal Academy of Engineering MacRobert Award, Britain's most prestigious award for outstanding innovation in engineering, presented to Rolls Royce for their development of the Trent aero-engine, one of the most powerful aircraft engines in the world; further congratulates Rolls Royce on their responsible approach to the reduction of engine noise and emission levels; and commends Rolls Royce's achievement as an excellent prelude to the 1997 Year of Engineering Success.
