Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Hardy of Wath, on Wednesday, 30 October 1996, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 36 members in total.

RESIDER II MONITORING COMMITTEE

That this House considers that the refusal of Her Majesty's Government to allow locally elected member representation on the Resider II Monitoring Committee will inevitably be regarded as unfair, unwise and undemocratic, and that the implications of this refusal are serious since it suggests that Ministers are disdainful of the need for effective, accountable and transparent management of such schemes which are of substantial relevance to necessitous regions within the United Kingdom; and calls upon Ministers to review this matter with urgency.
