Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Trimble (Ulster Unionist Party), on Monday, 11 May 1998, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 8 members in total.
SOS DEMOCRACY CAMPAIGN
That this House regrets that the Amsterdam Treaty provides for the further transfer of the powers of democratically elected national parliaments to EU bureaucrats at a time when people throughout Europe are demanding more open government; and commends the 36 MEPs of different national backgrounds who have put forward the SOS Democracy Campaign document which advocates a more democratic and open approach to European co-operation.
