Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Hilton Dawson (Labour), on Tuesday, 19 May 1998, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 2 members in total.
MOSS ROADS IN THE WYRE DISTRICT OF LANCASHIRE
That this House is alarmed at the condition of Moss Roads in Wyre District; expresses great concern for the safety of all who use them; recognises that they provide the basic communications infrastructure of the rural area upon which farms, business, schools and communities depend; understands that significant investment of some ??300,000 per kilometre will be needed to reconstruct these roads; acknowledges that much of the responsibility for the problem lies with the previous government which failed to invest in the proper maintenance of the highway network; and calls upon the Government to grant Lancashire County Council adequate TPP support to enable a rolling programme of reconstruction within a sensible timescale.
