Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Llew Smith (Labour), on Wednesday, 25 March 1998, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 16 members in total.
ISRAEL AND NUCLEAR WEAPONS
That this House believes that sustainable peace will only be achieved in the Middle East if Israel dismantles its nuclear weapons arsenal under the verification inspection of United Nations experts and abides by the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty as part of its conversion to a non-nuclear weapons state; further believes that the Israeli authorities should release Mordechai Vanunu from prison; and encourages Her Majesty's Government to advance these policies with Israel.
