Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Cynog Dafis (Plaid Cymru), on Friday, 12 December 1997, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 10 members in total.
WELSH INDUSTRIAL AND MARITIME MUSEUM
That this House views with concern the prospective closure of the Welsh Industrial and Maritime Museum in Cardiff Bay following the decision of the Heritage Lottery Fund not to allocate funding for it to be incorporated within the new Millennium Centre; condemns the scheme to replace the Museum's present building with a shopping centre; and calls on the Secretary of State for Wales to safeguard the nation's maritime and industrial heritage especially at this juncture in history after 250 years during which industrial experience has been central to the Welsh experience.
