Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Allan of Hallam (Liberal Democrat), on Monday, 19 January 1998, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 12 members in total.
SOUTH YORKSHIRE SUPERTRAM
That this House expresses its concern at the decision of the High Court in respect of the commitment of the previous government to pay for the full costs of the South Yorkshire SuperTram; fears that this will discourage other authorities from implementing new rapid transit systems; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to use its discretion to pay the sum still in dispute.
