CRIME STOPPERS TRUST

That this House congratulates the Crimestopper's Trust, the only charity concerned with helping to solve crime, for its work which leads directly to the arrest and charge of an average of 12 people a day; applauds the existence of a free telephone line allowing anonymous callers to give information which has secured over 22,000 arrests since Crimestoppers began; however notes that the cost to the trust for each arrest is in the order of ??200; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to endorse the work of Crimestoppers in the battle against crime.
