ACTION ON CHILD EXPLOITATION AND PRESSWISE
That this House welcomes the initiative taken by Action on Child Exploitation and Presswise, in responding to the Stockholm Declaration on the commercial sexual exploitation of children, by organising the Forum on Child Exploitation and the Media, with the support of 42 national and international child care and media organisations; and notes that the recommendations, prepared by Elizabeth Lawson QC, offer constructive guidance to all involved in the representation of children in the media in ways that can be progressed by education and training programmes and with the media industry regulators as part of a broader initiative to improve the protection of children as well as public understanding of the issues involved.
