Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Charlotte Atkins (Labour), on Wednesday, 3 November 1999, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 33 members in total.
INDEPENDENT MUTUAL STATUS OF LEEK UNITED BUILDING SOCIETY
That this House expresses concern about the threat to the independent mutual status of Leek United Building Society from Murray Financial Corporation; believes that Murray Financial Corporation is a shell company whose only purpose is to asset-strip mutual building societies and believes that the financial interests of Leek United members and the region are better served by the mutual approach.
