Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Paul Flynn (Labour), on Wednesday, 14 May 1997, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 14 members in total.
DEMOCRATIC DEFICIT IN WALES
That this House deplores the democratic deficit in Wales in which the Conservative Party, which gained 20 per cent. of the General Election vote, has no honourable Members or Members of the European Parliament; and calls on Welsh Conservatives to re-examine their opposition to proportional representation and devolution as the only remedies to their exclusion from Welsh politics.
