Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Jamie Cann (Labour), on Tuesday, 17 June 1997, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 43 members in total.

NATIONAL RADIO STATION FOR CHILDREN

That this House welcomes Children 2000's bid to establish Britain's, and the world's first national radio station for children on the newly available 225kHz long-wave frequency; considers such a station would be an invaluable contribution to children's education and development as acknowledged by the SCAA, the NSPCC, UNICEF and others; and urges the Radio Authority and the Government to explore this opportunity fully before awarding the vacant 225 kHz band.
