ACTION OF RESIDENT MAGISTRATE BERNADETTE KELLY

That this House deplores the comments of Resident Magistrate Bernadette Kelly while sentencing two elected Northern Ireland Assembly Members whom the Police had indicated had been helpful in restoring calm during street incidents in Londonderry; condemns the Resident Magistrate for suggesting that the Assembly Members should resign their seat; and recognises the clear political content and bias contained in her remarks.
