Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Tyler (Liberal Democrat), on Monday, 29 March 1999, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 50 members in total.

PARLIAMENT AND BBC RADIO FOUR

That this House notes that the warnings of the Right honourable Member for Manchester Gorton, the honourable Member for South Staffordshire, the honourable Member for Rotherham and the honourable Member for North Cornwall, amongst others, that changes to BBC Radio 4's parliamentary programme scheduling would result in dramatic falls in audiences have been abundantly fulfilled, with three-quarters of listeners to Yesterday in Parliament and two thirds of those for The Week in Westminster being lost; and urges the BBC Chairman to act on his promise to reverse the changes if these warnings proved correct.
