Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Ron Brown (Labour), on Wednesday, 14 February 1990, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 60 members in total.
Phoenicia Hotel (Malta) Dispute
That this House condemns the arbitary dismissal of 158 employees of the Phoenicia Hotel, Malta, by Trusthouse Forte, the owners, backed by police and government agencies: recognises that these workers have a just grievance on wages and conditions; urges the British Labour Movement to support their demands; and calls on management to invite Angelu Fenech, the General Secretary of the General Workers' Union, to meet them in London or any venue to discuss a solution to the dispute.
