Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Terry Lewis (Labour), on Tuesday, 5 December 1989, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 20 members in total.

ICSTIS and Advice to Hon Members

That this House notes with incredulity that the Independent Committee for the Supervision of Telephone Information Services has written to honourable Members advising them of its role in monitoring telephone premium services; calls into question the timing of this communication, coming as it does within days of a decision on the future of such 'services' by the Director General of OFTEL; and suspects that this public relations exercise is designed to falsely reassure the House when, in fact, this British Telecom-financed committee has conspicuously failed even to enforce its own code of practice introduced in May.
