Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Cryer (Labour), on Monday, 6 November 2000, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 67 members in total.
BILL BARAZETTI
That this House notes with great sadness the death of the 'British Schindler' Bill Barazetti; notes that along with his wife Anna, Mr Barazetti saved the lives of 669 Jewish children through the Kindertransport project in Czechoslovakia in 1939; further notes that both Mr and Mrs Barazetti showed immense courage and determination in resisting the Nazi menace; and calls on Her Majesty's Government also to recognise the Barazetti's valiant efforts both before the Second World War and subsequently in Mr Barazetti's case, when he made a significant contribution to the allied war effort as an agent of the Secret Service MI19.
