Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Geoffrey Johnson Smith (Conservative), on Monday, 17 April 2000, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 12 members in total.
UKIP CANDIDATE IN THE ROMSEY BY-ELECTION
That this House notes with suspicion that the UKIP candidate in the Romsey by-election is actually a sitting Liberal Democrat councillor on Test Valley Borough Council; questions the legitimacy of a candidate who represents as a councillor an openly pro-federal Europe party whilst now claiming to seek the votes of those who are not; and further notes that the Liberal Democrat party has failed to eject the UKIP candidate from its Test Valley Council group.
