AIR SEA RESCUE HELICOPTER AT LEE-ON-THE-SOLENT

That this House pays tribute to the work of those who operate the Coastguard air/sea rescue helicopter at Lee-on-the-Solent; appreciates that they provide 24-hour a day cover throughout the year in the exceptionally busy area of the Solent and the English Channel; notes that various studies over the years have confirmed the Daedalus site at Lee-on-the-Solent to be the most appropriate location for the rescue helicopter on the central southern coast; and urges the Maritime and Coastguard Agency and others involved to press ahead with action to maintain and upgrade the ground facilities at Daedalus.
