That this House welcomes the ??20 million order won by Pilkington Optronics in Glasgow to fit three Astute-class submarines with imaging equipment, as the modern version of the periscope; notes that this work for the Royal Navy secures the future for the 600 Govan employees by providing work for the next six years; appreciates the confidence shown by the Ministry of Defence in pioneering hi-tech British firms; and praises the innovative quality work of the Govan firm.
