Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Ernie Ross (Labour), on Wednesday, 9 February 2000, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 49 members in total.
ISRAELI RAIDS ON LEBANON
That this House believes that the continued Israeli aggression on Lebanon is disproportionate and in violation of international humanitarian law; believes that by targeting a civilian population and its infrastructure it violates the Fourth Geneva Convention and that the attacks serve only to hinder the changes of peace in the region; and calls on sides to use restraint and for international law to be upheld, including adherence to the April 1996 understandings and the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 425 calling for Israel's immediate and unconditional withdrawal from southern Lebanon.
