Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Nick Palmer (Labour), on Monday, 6 December 1999, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 23 members in total.
CONDUCT OF THE RIGHT HONOURABLE MEMBER FOR WOKINGHAM
That this House notes that the Right honourable Member for Wokingham the Shadow Secretary of State for Trade and Industry is a director of Murray Financial, which was set up purely to make 'carpetbagger' takeovers of building societies; further notes that the first proposed victim, the Leek United Building Society, voted by 73 per cent. to reject the takeover; and calls on the Shadow Secretary to occupy his time more productively by developing some plausible policies.
