Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Tom Cox (Labour), on Monday, 12 February 2001, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 54 members in total.

WANDSWORTH COUNCIL PARKING CONTROLLED ZONES

That this House notes with concern the ongoing protests by residents living in the London Borough of Wandsworth as to the introduction of parking controlled zones within the borough; further notes that many residents claim that they were not properly consulted by council officers and that despite clear opposition to the introduction of these CPZs Wandsworth Council still implements them; and calls on the Chief Executive Officer of Wandsworth Borough Council, Mr Gerald Jones, and the Director of the Technical Services Department, Mr W. G. Myers, to ensure that every resident is fully and properly consulted before any further CPZ schemes are introduced, and that open declaration is made of the voting results by residents as to their support or opposition to the introduction of CPZs in the areas in which they live.
