Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Gerald Kaufman (Labour), on Tuesday, 6 March 2001, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 21 members in total.

COLLEY CIVIL ENGINEERING OF OTLEY AND MR MARK ASPRAY

That this House expresses its renewed disgust with Colley Civil Engineering of Otley, West Yorkshire, for, after nearly a year, still having failed to pay ??280 owing in wages to its former employee, Mr Mark Aspray; notes that this company's shameful conduct is such that not only has it avoided replying to repeated letters from Mr Aspray's Member of Parliament, the Right honourable Member for Manchester, Gorton, but has also dodged telephone calls from the trade magazine, New Civil Engineer, which has looked into the case; and warns both potential employees and potential customers to steer clear of this shady company, since a company which cheats and defrauds its workers is equally likely to cheat and defraud its customers.
