Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Maclennan of Rogart (Liberal Democrat), on Wednesday, 20 December 2000, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 66 members in total.

CHILDREN'S CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

That this House welcomes the news that seven out of 10 children are now successfully treated for cancer and wholeheartedly supports the creation of an annual children's cancer awareness month by The Cancer Research Campaign, the first of which is December 2000, to raise awareness of, and money for, cancers that affect children such as leukaemia, brain and spinal tumours, lymphomas, sarcomas and kidney tumours; calls upon honourable Members to lend their support and presence to various activities planned by the Cancer Research Campaign throughout December; and hopes that the month will achieve its key objectives of raising awareness of children's cancer not just among honourable Members and the medical profession, but also the wider general public.
