Voluntary Euthanasia

That this House is aware of a recent National Opinion Poll survey which shows 75 per cent. of the population are in favour of the principle of voluntary euthanasia; is further aware that in Holland doctors who act within the published guidelines for the proper practice of euthanasia are not prosecuted; and calls upon the Home Secretary to make a statement with a view to appropriate legislation in a forthcoming Parliamentary Session.
