Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor David Laws (Liberal Democrat), on Monday, 8 July 2002, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 80 members in total.
HIGH HEDGES
That this House notes that in December 2000 a Government Minister indicated that he was very eager to get legislation tackling the problem of high hedges, including leylandii, in place quickly; regrets that such legislation has still not been brought forward by the Government in spite of the overwhelming support expressed during the consultation process in the year 2000; and urges the Government to bring forward legislation on this matter in the next session of Parliament.
