Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Teddy Taylor (Conservative), on Wednesday, 24 April 2002, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 60 members in total.
LOCAL COUNCILS AND FAIR TRADING
That this House is concerned about restrictions introduced by some local councils on access to public records relating to property, particularly when councils themselves offer facilities for property searches; and believes that all councils should adhere to the Town and Country Planning Act 1990, which states that access to the register should be provided at all reasonable hours.
