Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Ron Brown (Labour), on Tuesday, 15 October 1991, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 57 members in total.
TAKEOVER BID FOR INVERGORDON DISTILLERS
That this House, recognising that the takeover bid by Whyte and Mackay for Invergordon Distillers, a Leith-based firm, could lead to redundancies and a reduction in whisky brands, calls on the Monopolies and Mergers Commission to use its powers to stop this further extension in monopoly by multinationals.
