Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Tom Clarke (Labour), on Thursday, 14 February 2002, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 50 members in total.

TURKISH GOVERNMENT REFUSAL OF ACCESS TO KURDISH IRAQ

That this House is concerned that the Government of Turkey refused to issue visas to members of the UK Parliament to allow them to visit Kurdish Iraq; notes that such an action threatens to isolate Kurdish Iraq from the democratic parliamentarians who supported the establishment of the No-Fly zones in Iraq; and calls on the UK Government to impress on the Government of Turkey that such behaviour is not what is expected of an applicant country for membership of the European Union.
