DIABETES NATIONAL SERVICE FRAMEWORK (No. 2)

That this House deeply regrets the delay to the publication and implementation of the Diabetes National Service Framework; recognises that too many people with diabetes are not receiving adequate standards of care; and calls on Her Majesty's Government to make a clear statement about the priority it attaches to diabetes, to supply a firm date for the publication of the National Service Framework, to commit to open consultation on implementation, and to encourage local NHS bodies to start laying the foundations for service improvement so that National Service Framework implementation can begin without further delay following publication.
