WAR CHILD

That this House praises the important work of War Child UK, www.warchild.org.uk, an international relief and development agency, dedicated to providing immediate, effective and sustainable aid to some of the most vulnerable children caught up in conflict around the world, whose small team of 34 staff in Nasiriyah, Iraq have developed a bakery which is producing more than 10,000 loaves of bread a day which are distributed to hospitals, orphanages, schools and vulnerable families and who have assisted the Kuwait Red Cross in delivering clean water and have a trained psychosocial worker working in school to help traumatised children; and calls on the Government to continue to support this vital work with more funding and resources which make a real difference to the lives of Iraqi children.
