Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Field of Birkenhead (Labour), on Thursday, 12 July 2001, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 42 members in total.

TURNOUT AT THE GENERAL ELECTION

That this House is concerned with the turnout at the General Election, the lowest for over 80 years; believes that parties from across the political spectrum should act to try and reverse the trend; and calls upon the Chancellor of the Exchequer to allow both the successful candidate and the unsuccessful candidates following a General Election a copy of the marked register at nil cost.
