Early day motion tabled by primary sponsor Lord Bruce of Bennachie (Liberal Democrat), on Thursday, 23 November 1989, in the House of Commons. It is signed by 8 members in total.
Congratulations to Liberal Democrats in Sutton LBC
That this House notes that the London Borough of Sutton is controlled by the Liberal Democrats who in the words of a recent article in the London Evening Standard are top of the green league; further notes that in 1986 the Alliance-controlled council in the southern suburbs produced a charter on the environment, way back when the only things known to turn green were traffic lights; and congratulates Councillor Paul Burstow and the controlling Liberal Democrat group on the London Borough of Sutton who have made community involvement central to their environmental programme winning praise as a shining example by the Tidy Britain Group and this September picking up for the tidiest Borough in London.
